Lemon Dishwasher Tabs

Ingredients:

*1 C Baking Soda

*1 C Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate)

*1/2 C Epsom Salt

*1/3 C Fresh Lemon Juice with zest

(Optional: Essential Oils - 22 drops of any combo of Lemon, Rosemary, Eucalyptus) * I leave these out.

Directions:

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl

Add lemon juice and zest slowly to incorporate well until the mixture feels like wet sand and starts to hold its shape when squeezed.

Press the mixture into silicone ice cube molds that will fit in the dishwasher’s detergent tray

Allow to dry fully (typically 24 hours)

Pop out and store in an airtight container to keep from moisture getting in

Notes: Sodium Carbonate (Washing Soda) can be made by heating your oven to 200 degrees F and warming baking soda on a cookie sheet for an hour. This process removes moisture and carbon dioxide turning the baking soda into “Soda Ash” or “Washing Soda”. If you do not plan to use your newly created Sodium Carbonate right away, store in an airtight container with a desiccant to keep it dry.
